Hi, I'm disabled too and agree non-disabled actors mimicking our disabilities is offensive. One of my most read articles critiques Poor Things for this reason. However, I call it disabled mimicry, never cripface or cripping up. Both terms, cripface and cripping up, are derived from Blackface (blacking up in the UK). Years ago, Dom Evans explained why we shouldn't compare disabled mimicry to blackface, quoting a few Black disabled activists: https://www.domevansofficial.com/2017/07/18/please-stop-comparing-cripping-up-to-blackface/ My friend Mallory on Twitter (_brown-recluse) pointed out Tropic Thunder, which used disabled mimicry AND blackface. I used to Tweet about this a lot, but I deleted Twitter when Musk took over. Please try to teach about disability representation in an intersectional way.
